Episode #38 – Nailing the Teacher Interview – Part 1

by Sam on August 6, 2016

Hello amazing teachers,

I was pleasantly surprised a few weeks ago when my former student – and former student teacher – Eva, contacted me to ask me if I would have a mock interview with her. She is planning on applying for a position in our district, and she wanted some practice.

I, of course, agreed, and we spent about an hour on Skype going over some interviewing tips, along with a practice interview.

It was great.

I asked Eva if it was OK to record our conversation, and share it on the podcast, and she agreed.

The Skype session is broken up into two parts.

In this episode, I share some tips that will help Eva as she sits in the “hot seat.”

In the next podcast, you’ll be able to hear the second half of the session, where we actually conduct a mock interview.

I believe the information I share with Eva is valuable for anybody looking to become a teacher. I wish I would have known what I know now back when I was interviewing. Feel free to share this with anybody you know who is looking to change their life and the lives of students forever by becoming a teacher.

If you would like to hear the Skype session in its entirety, you can download the full conversation here.

Thank you again,

Until next time…

Be amazing!
